TV Land debuted its new comedy "Kirstie" Wednesday (Dec. 4), a sitcom starring "Cheers" alums Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman plus "Seinfeld" alum Michael Richards. One would think with the sitcom pedigree gracing the small screen for TV Land's new "Kirstie," the comedy would be better. Unfortunately, the show looks and feels like something made 20 years ago -- except not as funny as the gems of 20 years ago. The laughs, when there are some, are cheap. A Viagra joke? "Suck it, Angelina Jolie," as if she cares about some Broadway actress being put on the cover of People. As if a Broadway diva would be on the cover of People. Is this set in the 1950s?It's not devoid of bright spots -- there was a lovely moment when Alley's character Maddie is telling assistant Thelma (Perlman) about giving her son up for adoption. "I'm not a mother," she concludes, and walks away. Those...

Everyone was very busy in the "Tomorrow People" episode, "Thanatos." Kidnapping, murder, revelations, British professors with weird mushroom tea and even a "Matrix"-style brain machine were all part of the fun. It's just too bad it all ended so poorly for just about all of the good guys.Worst. Idea. Ever.Stephen is still all worked up -- and rightly so -- about seeing his maybe-dead father and learning the word, "Thanatos," from him. Everyone else is a bit skeptical of this -- and rightly so -- since Stephen was having a near-death experience himself at the time. But these crazy genetically evolved kids will do anything for Stephen, so Cara and Russell concoct what may be the worst plan in "Tomorrow People" history: They decide to break into Jedikiah's house and pick his brain while the man is asleep.Nothing could go wrong, right?Yeah ... Unfortunately, Jedikiah isn't a sound enough sleeper and wakes up mid-brain scan. Cara...

"American Horror Story: Coven" looks to have set up a war of the witches for the last group of episodes this season -- who ya got your money on?Fiona and the Sacred TakingCordelia has had enough with hiding out and hoping Marie Laveau doesn't get them, so she rallies the witches of her coven to start to fight back. They are aided by the arrival of one Misty Day, who is toting Myrtle with her. It would seem a would-be assassin came creeping through the swamp, but Myrtle dusted herself off from her bog o' resurrection and warned Misty in time. The two of them hid out until Hank (we all know it was Hank, right?) went away and they headed straight for the coven. The six coven witches perform a ritual called the Sacred Taking, which they hope will cause Fiona to kill herself for the good of the coven -- so a new,...

After last week's shocking elimination, the Top 6 for the "X Factor" know that anyone can go home in any given week, so they gotta bring it. The theme this week is diva hits for song no. 1 and unplugged for song no. 2. 1. Restless Road, "Red" and "Wake Me Up"Well, this starts out pretty well, though there aren't a lot of discernible harmonies. However, the tall one really needs help with his stage presence -- he seriously just wanders and bops around out there. Also, his solo on this song was terrible. Really bad. It's not enough that he can sing low, girls who are screaming like banshees. He needs to be on key, too. Oof.Their second song is miles better -- there are harmonies, the solos are pretty strong. I mean, we all know this group is going to win it all and then fade into oblivion, right? They're obviously very popular...

The call to open "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" was to have diva Mariah Carey, no stranger to NBC's annual tree-lighting ceremony, stand behind some very enthusiastic child dancers and belt out a very funky version of "Joy to the World."It was actually a mash-up of the classic non-secular carol and the classic Three Dog Night song "Joy to the World," which is not something one hears every day. We'll post video as soon as we have it.But for now, here are a couple excellent GIFs of Mariah Carey doing her Mariah Carey thing on the rockingiest version of "Joy to the World" you'll ever hear. Later, Carey took to the stage in a red bustier dress, white fur collar and black leather gloves (as one wears during the holidays) to sing her classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" as the enthusiastic children danced like maniacs again. It was ... a lot. Video below....

In the "Arrow" episode, "The Scientist," a young man named Barry Allen visits Starling City. This Flash-to-be might just be necessary since Oliver and his team are trying to stop a medically enhanced superman-type.We're talking about a bad guy that might even be too much for Oliver to handle.Barry Allen: The sweet, adorable hero-to-beWhat can we say about Barry Allen (Grant Gustin)? He looks like a child, even if he is a CSI tech of an appropriate age to flirt with Felicity. Barry gets caught in the rain, carrying bags far too large for one person. He stammers while grinning. Felicity is attracted to both his charm and his brains.Could he be any more adorable or awesome?Barry may have arrived to help with the Queen Consolidated case, but this CSI assistant ends up staying just as much for Felicity and to ask vigilante questions. It may be a good thing Barry's there too -- he...

It's the same old story on "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" -- can anyone make a move against Tyson?KasamaBack from Tribal, Hayden makes a bold move by congratulating Tyson on his good move, but also telling the whole rest of the tribe that Tyson is playing the best game. No one can beat him at the end. But then weirdly Gervase starts yelling about how he's part of it, he's just as in control as Tyson. Nobody actually believes that, Gerv. Sorry. Anyway, Tyson is pretty annoyed that Hayden "threw him under the bus," but what else was Hayden supposed to do at this point? Hayden correctly points out this is his only shot. He needs people to move against Tyson and the only way to do that is to make them realize none of them can win against him (which they can't). When Tyson, Gervase, Ciera and Monica are alone, they agree Hayden needs to...

"Sherlock" is really coming back! Season 3 begins on Jan. 1 in the UK and Jan. 19 in the United States, but there are already photos from the upcoming season to help fans wait. Check out this collection of pictures from the premiere, "The Empty Hearse."Judging from the press conference above, it doesn't take long for Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) to announce his return from the dead. There is probably a case to solve that couldn't wait.Related: A "Sherlock" mini-episode is coming on Christmas Day.But until Sherlock is really back, things are a lot more somber, especially for people like Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman).Mary Morstan looks a little happier at least. What's the verdict on Watson's mustache? Think he'll keep it?Mrs. Hudson looks a little shocked. Is Sherlock to blame for this?Inspector Lestrade, meanwhile, just looks as perplexed (and vaguely amused) as ever.Poor Molly. With Sherlock dead, she has to mourn him. With the...

In addition to Stevie Nicks stopping by for two episodes, "American Horror Story: Coven" has another new face for the end to Season 3 -- Lance Reddick, whom you may know as Agent Phillip Broyles from FOX sci-fi drama "Fringe."EW reports that Reddick will join the show as Papa Legba, a pivotal person in the life of Maria Laveau (Angela Bassett). He'll be an important character for the final four episodes of the series. Papa Legba is yet another character borrowed from real life. The figure is a voodoo middleman, of sorts. He is the go-between for humans and the spirit world in the practice of Haitian voodoo. Creator Ryan Murphy teases, "You find out that's how come Marie Laveau looks so good -- because she sold her soul.""American Horror Story: Coven" airs Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX....
