When it comes to same-sex kisses, it looks like CBS is on board... as long as both parties are women.
During an "Early Show" segment on "American Idol" Adam Lambert's same-sex kiss during the American Music Awards, CBS blurred a picture of the kiss. It then showed un-blurred pictures of Madonna kissing Britney Spears.
Ironically, Lambert had agreed to appear on "The Early Show" after ABC's "Good Morning America" cancelled a planned performance by Lambert in the wake of the controversy.
"We gave this some real thought," a CBS representative explained to Extra. "The Madonna image is very familiar and has appeared countless times including many times on morning television. The Adam Lambert image is a subject of great current controversy, has not been nearly as widely disseminated, and for all we know, may still lead to legal consequences."
Considering all the hubbub, we'd be willing to call the Lambert kiss image "widely disseminated."
